Pinhead is returning in two big projects, one of which is a movie with Hulu. It has received an R rating for “strong bloody horror violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual content, and brief graphic nudity.”
David Bruckner is directing, with screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, from a screen story they co-wrote with David Goyer. It stars Jamie Clayton as Pinhead, and Odessa A’zion as Riley. Clive Barker, Hellraiser‘s (1987) director and writer, serves as a producer.
The Hulu Original film is being described as a “loyal yet evolved re-imagining of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic.” Along with the film, there is a Hellraiser series being developed for HBO. David Gordon Green will be directing the pilot and several episodes. Michael Dougherty and Mark Verheiden will be writing the series.
There is no release date at the moment.
