Ahead of HBO’s House of Dragons premiere, footage of The Last of Us was finally released.
Based on the videogame of the same name developed by Naughty Dog, the show takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. It stars Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie).
The teaser shows Joel and Ellie as they cross a snowy bridge with the latter’s voice saying, “Everybody I’ve cared for has either died or left me.”
“You have no idea what loss is,” Joel responds.
It is followed by quick scenes of Joel and Ellie in action, as well as a glimpse of Nick Offerman’s character, Bill. Other cast members include Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, and Murrary Bartlett. Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin serve as Co-Creators, Executive Producers, Writers, and Directors.
The Last of Us is set to release sometime in 2023.
