Disney has revealed the full-length trailer to their upcoming live-action adaptation of Pinocchio. The film is a remake of the 1940 Disney animated classic, which is based on 1883 Italian book The Adventures of Pinocchio.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis from a screenplay by Zemeckis and Chris Weitz. It stars Tom Hanks as Gepetto, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio.

Cynthia Erivo also co-stars with Luke Evans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the voice of Jiminy Cricket, Keegan-Michael Key as “Honest” John, a deceptive red fox, and Lorraine Bracco as Sofia the Seagull. With Kyanne Lamaya as Fabiana, Giuseppe Battiston as Señor Stromboli, and Lewin Lloyd as Lampwick.

The trailer opens with Pinocchio being presented as “the eighth wonder of the world.” There is then a shot of the Blue Fairy bringing Pinocchio to life. We then see Geppetto set Pinocchio free to explore the world, where he encounters Honest the fox. Honest asks Pinocchio, “Why on earth would you want to be real, when you can be famous?”
Pinocchio premieres on Disney+ September 8.
