Ben Kingsley will return to reprise his role as Trevor Slattery, the actor who impersonated The Mandarin in Iron Man 3, for the upcoming Wonder Man show on Disney+.
Kingsley returning as Slattery lends credence to reports that the show is intended to be a Hollywood satire, as it has been established that Slattery is a failed actor and Wonder Man has been an actor and a stuntman in the comics.
Kingsley first portrayed Slattery in Iron Man 3, then in a short film titled, All Hail the King. Most recently, he appeared as Slattery in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The role reunites Kingsley with Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed and co-wrote Shang-Chi. Cretton will serve as an executive producer and co-creator on the Wonder Man series.
