The trailer to M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film, Knock at the Cabin released today.

The film is based on a novel by Paul G. Tremblay titled, The Cabin at the End of the World. In the film, “While vacationing, girl and her parents are taken hostage by armed strangers who demand that the family make a choice to avert the apocalypse.” (Source: IMDb)

Shyamalan wrote the script along with Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman. It stars Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn and Rupert Grint. Additional cast include William Ragsdale, and McKenna Kerrigan.

The trailer starts off fun and carefree; we two dads with their daughter cheerfully singing together on their road trip to their cabin destination. Afterwards, we see the family relaxing and enjoying the outdoors, until a stranger (Bautista) introduces himself to the little girl.

It cuts to the family inside the cabin, in fear as a group of strangers knocks on the door. The family tries to defend themselves, but they are captured by the strangers.

The trailer ends with Bautista saying, “The four of us are here to prevent the apocalypse.” In order to do so, the family has to make a decision. And if they “fail to choose, the world will end.”

Knock at the Cabin Door is set to release February 3, 2023.
