The new tech horror produced by James Wan and Blumhouse Studios is coming soon, and based on the trailer, it looks like a lot of fun.
M3GAN is directed by Gerard Johnstone, from a screenplay by Akela Cooper based on a story by Cooper and Wan. It stars Alison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ronny Chieng, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Lori Dungey, and Stephane Garneau-Monten.
The film follows Gemma (Williams) who suddenly becomes her newly orphaned niece Cady (McGraw). Unprepared for parenthood, she programs a lifelike doll to help. In the trailer, we see this relationship start off happily, but it becomes apparent that you can’t just “shut off” the doll.
The trailer shows off a creepy and humorous M3GAN doll. We see her creepily chase after a boy bullying Cady, and even see her bust out some meme-worthy dance moves.
M3GAN releases January 13, 2023.
