James Mangold, director of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, is reportedly in talks to direct the upcoming film “Swamp Thing”. As the project is still in early development, and there is no script yet its best to take this with a grain of salt. Mangold of course is not a new comer when it comes to darker comic book movies with his masterpiece that is Logan.

Sources say that Mangold has been a fan of “Swamp Thing” for a while and has been pursuing the film project. The news of Mangold’s interest has excited DC as Mangold tweeted a photo from the “Swamp Thing” comic book the day after the DC slate announcement. This quickly led to the speculation of him directing since Gunn then re-tweeted his post.

Although James Gunn and Peter Safran, co-CEOs of the studio, did not announce any director during their “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters” DC Universe slate presentation, fan castings and wish lists are rising. Mangold of course is pretty booked with the Bob Dylan movie he is making. It might be quite a while if he is indeed the director for Swamp Thing before we hear anything about it.
