Lionsgate Acquiring Blumhouse Thriller ‘Imaginary’

Lionsgate is close to securing worldwide rights to Imaginary, a new thriller from Blumhouse to be directed by Jeff Wadlow (known for The Curse of Bridge Hollow).

Lionsgate and an undisclosed studio will co-finance Imaginary with Lionsgate presenting it to buyers at the European Film Market this month. This is the second project for the companies following the 2012 release of Siniste” produced by Blum and presented by Summit Entertainment/Lionsgate.

Imaginary follows a young woman who returns to her childhood home and finds that her imaginary friend, whom she thought was gone, is actually real and unhappy with her departure. The project, currently in the process of casting, is planned to go into production this spring. The script was written by Wadlow, Greg Erb, Jason Oremland, and Bryce McGuire, and produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse and Wadlow.
