Jonathan Majors to Star In ‘DA UNDERSTUDY’ With Spike Lee in Talks to Direct
Jonathan Majors is set to star in Amazon Studio’s upcoming film Da Understudy. Spike Lee is reportedly in talks to direct.
Majors will star in and produce the film, under his Tall Street Productions banner, partnering with Westbrook Studios and Amazon. The project tells the story of “life imitating art when the understudy of a Broadway production finds a role he’s willing to kill for.”
Spike Lee, who has directed iconic films such as “Do the Right Thing” and “Malcolm X,” is reportedly in talks to helm the project. Da Understudy would reunite the filmmaker and Majors after 2020’s Da 5 Bloods.
The film’s script was written Tom Hamada, Zach Stauss and Tyler Cole wrote the screenplay, which is based on an original story by Cole and developed in-house by Westbrook.
This news comes after Majors’ huge box-office success, with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania and Creed III.
