Lisa Dreyer Promoted to Full-Time Fantastic Fest Director

Fantastic Fest will always be near and dear to us being native Texans and the first festival to give us a chance to cover as press. It also is one of our favorite festivals due to the amount of genre films it brings so we’re excited to share some news from the festival. In an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter we have learned that Fantastic Fest has made Lisa Dreyer, the full-time overseer of the genre event’s creative direction and operations. Here is what Lisa Dreyer had to say about the new promotion as well as Fantastic Fest founder Tim League’s comments

“I am unbelievably excited to continue my work as festival director, and expand Fantastic Fest’s footprint throughout the year”

“To watch Lisa’s rapid rise from watching screeners just six years ago to now helming the festival has been fabulously exciting,” Fantastic Fest founder Tim League said in his own statement.

Fantastic Fest will celebrate the 1980’s fascination with the occult so its sure to bring a lot of 80’s horror vibes. Fantastic Fest returns to the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar cinema for 2023 and will also become a specialized competitive festival. The festival receiving accreditation from the International Federation of Film Producers Associations to join the ranks of Cannes, Berlin, Karlovy Vary and Venice.
