Will Sharpe ‘The White Lotus’ Star Will Be Directing ‘Crying In H Mart’ For MGM’s Orion

Will Sharpe coming of his starring role in HBO hit show ‘The White Lotus’ has found a new gig with directing the new film based on the hit book ‘Crying in H Mart’ The book follows a half Korean daughter who returns to a small town in Oregon to take care of he elder mother. We follows as they come to accept each other through Korean cuisine and music through their cultural differences.

The book was written by front woman Michelle Zauner from Grammy-nominated indie band Japanese Breakfast. Zauner will adapt the screenplay, also playing a part in the creation of the film’s music. Stacey Sher will produce alongside Jason Kim. The news of Will Sharpe directing the film came from People and is definitely an exciting development.

The book which the movie will be based on spent 60 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller. Will Sharpe is also not a new comer when it comes to directing.   Sharpe directed Landscapers, starring Olivia Colman and David Thewlis, also previously writing, directing and starring in Channel 4’s critically acclaimed Flowers.
