Blue Beetle is the latest film from DC and one of the films that survived the shake up for DC last year. The film which will debut the first live action Latin superhero from DC has released its first trailer. It is one of our most anticipated movies and the trailer does not disappoint. We definitely checked off all the marks we wanted from this movie just based on this trailer alone.
Blue Beetle follows Jaime Reyes as he uncovers a alien blue scarab that grants his a suit of armor. The film stars  ‎Xolo Maridueña as the Jaime as well as George Lopez, Bruna Marquenzie, and Harvey Guillen. In the trailer we get an understanding of who Jaime is. We see he is just an average guy that through a chance of faith encounters the Blue Scarab which immediately binds to him. The scarab is sought after by a mysterious force who seems ready to do whatever it takes to get it.
I enjoyed seeing the quick shots of Jaime harnessing and learning the powers that come with the suit. The bits of comedy here have me excited as it seems Jaime and his family are the heart of the movie. There is no word yet on how this movie fits into the DC universe larger frame. I do hope that we are able to see more of Blue Beetle after this movie but in the mean time we are excited for this film.
