Netflix released the Fear Street trilogy films all within a several weeks span. Fear Street is an American horror film series, with varying sub-genres of horror, slasher subgenre mainly. The films were all directed by Leigh Janiak and were loosely adapted from R. L. Stines’ books of the same name.

Although it didn’t provide record-breaking results for Netflix, R. L. Stine told Y! that there have been “rumors” of more Fear Street films. He continues by saying, “I…hear rumors about more Fear Street movies for Netflix, because the first ones did so well last summer,” says Stine. “Those films kind of shocked me, because they were all R-rated, and I’ve never done anything R-rated! All those teenagers were getting slashed. I was like, ‘Suddenly, I have a slasher movie!’”

According to BloodyDisgusting, these rumors are in fact true. Netflix is deep into production and there is still more to be announced.
