‘Speak No Evil’ – Mackenzie Davis Joins James McAvoy in Remake

Speak No Evil, a terrifying Danish horror movie released in 2022, is being remade by James Watkins for Blumhouse and Universal. Mackenzie Davis, known for her roles in Terminator: Dark Fate and Happiest Season, will star alongside James McAvoy, who was previously announced to join the cast. The remake will be released in theaters on August 9, 2024.

The original movie, directed by Christian Tafdrup, tells the story of a Danish family’s idyllic weekend with a Dutch family that slowly unravels in the face of unpleasantness. James Watkins will also write the script for the remake, while Jason Blum will produce the film for Blumhouse, with several others serving as executive producers. The original Speak No Evil was highly praised by critics for its claustrophobic character study that examines the chilling nature of evil.

Universal will release Speak No Evil in theaters on August 9, 2024.
