Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre held a pre-release party June 17, and it was filled with surprise guests and plenty of chances to play the upcoming game!!

While waiting in line to check in, we got to see a replica of the film’s iconic van pull up to the venue’s outdoor area. There was also a sculptor who utilized a chainsaw to ultimately create a wooden chainsaw, which was really cool.

Bites and Drinks

After being checked in, we had the chance to enjoy some themed drinks and food. The food included Frito pies as well as brisket barbeque tacos, which were both really tasty. The themed cocktails included “The Old Man”, “Quick Hill Sunrise”, “Ranch Water”, “Texas Margarita”, and “Castilleja Wildflower.”

Installation

Along with bites and refreshments, there was a smaller version of the film’s (and now game) house. The caged chickens that you run into in the game was displayed in front of the house. Inside, there was a chainsaw display, as well as a skeleton lamp.

Gameplay

We got the chance to play the game during their technical test, but guests had the opportunity to play some more at the party. While playing, we got to see more of the game, which included Family members Sissy and Johnny, as well as a new Gas Station map. I especially had fun playing with Sissy, who utilizes poison to blind victims.

Guests

Along with members of the game’s team (who were all so nice!), there were plenty of surprise guests. Ed Neal who plays Hitchhiker both in the film and game, and Allen Danziger best known for his role as Jerry in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre were there. Kane Hodder who is known for his role as Jason Vorhees and who did motion capture for the game’s Leatherface was also in attendance. Some other game actors that were there included, Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween 2007) who plays Julie in the game, and Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs).

Gifts

As we headed out of the party, guests were given party favors. The gifts included our very own “Nugget”, which is a chicken plushie, three months of Xbox Game Pass, and a tote bag filled with themed items from pins, a t-shirt, koozie, and a photo.

This event was a lot of fun, and we are super excited for the game’s full release August 18.
