Olivia Rodrigo broke through the mainstream with her massive hit Drivers License. Rodrigo went on to release her debut album Sour which gained critical acclaim and amazing sales. We were anticipating what Rodrigo would follow up that amazing debut and the answer was Vampire teased a couple weeks ago. Olivia also dropped the name of the next album being called ‘Guts’ and dropping in September.

We got the chance to listen to Vampire and immediately had to replay it. The new single feels more haunting and different from anything we’ve heard from Rodrigo. Olivia talked to Rolling Stone about creating the song and having some piano chords that sounded gothic. Rodrigo also talked about the inspiration to the lyrics

“I think it reflects the journey that I was going through and the anger that gets pent up in an experience like the one that the song’s about,”

Overall Vampire is another hit from Olivia that is a great way to introduce the new album. If Vampire is any indication as to what we can expect from Guts then we surely are in for a treat. What did you think of Olivia Rodrigo’s Vampire?
