The Exorcist Believer is the latest film from David Gordon Green. Green revitalized the Halloween franchise, which recently ended with Halloween Ends. The success of those films seems to be the reason we are seeing Green come back to tackle another classic. The Exorcist Believer will serve as a direct sequel to the 1973 version in the same way as Halloween (2018) did with Halloween (1978).

The latest trailer starts off subtly playing a couple of notes of the famous tubular bells theme. We see the film will revolve around a father whos daughter goes missing alongside their friend. When the two girls resurface things are far from normal and the evil begins to reveal itself. The two girls grow more and more possessed. As the father looks for help, he stumbles upon Chris. Ellyn Burstyn reprises her role as Chris the mother of Reagan in the first Exorcist film. It’s a race against the clock as they attempt to free the girls from this evil.

We loved the trailer and believe it can help to get a new audience versed in the horror classic. The Exorcist Believer will be the first film in a planned trilogy from Blumhouse and Morgan Creek. A sequel is already planned and named as The Exorcist Deceiver so there’s a lot of confidence in this. Check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts on the upcoming sequel.
