Sharknado has reached a milestone, with the a full remaster for its tenth anniversary.

The film starts off with a bang with a business meeting gone wrong. A meeting between a shark fin smuggler and a potential buyer goes awry when they run into a hurricane filled with sharks, killing everyone on board. The hurricane quickly arrives in Los Angeles where we meet the main group consisting of Fin, Baz, Nova and George. Here, we begin our journey as we follow them through the deadly storm of flying sharks on their way to rescue Fin’s estranged family.
This action-packed movie is a perfect example of a 2010’s summer blockbuster with a fun soundtrack and charming protagonists. While most of the kills may seem over the top and video game-esque, the action in the movie is enjoyable and provides a few laughs here and there (especially that one scene at the end.)
The main three we follow from the beginning have a fun dynamic with some banter thrown in here and there. Fin’s unconditional love for his family and his want to save everyone he can from becoming shark food is an interesting factor for the plot. It was interesting seeing the group navigate through the shark-infested city.
Some of the effects and looks of the sharks are a bit questionable, feeling a bit cartoonish at times. However, I loved the different types of sharks that were shown, such as Tiger sharks and Hammerhead sharks. The angles the film used at times were also a bit random feeling. However, some were really successful, such as the POV shot of the shark during the chase scene at the beginning, which really added to the oncoming sense of danger. Despite these small gripes, this is definitely a must-watch for the summer!
