Simon Barret returns with a new film Azrael starring Samara Weaving. The film from the writer of You’re Next and The Guest was acquired by Republic Pictures for the North American rights. It also has received distribution from Paramount Global. The film is directed by E.L. Katz (CHANNEL ZERO, HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR, CHEAP THRILLS) and written by Simon Barret.

Azrael will be a blend of action and horror and here’s a quick synopsis of the film.

“The film is set in a world in which no one speaks and follows a devout female-led community which hunts down a young woman who has escaped her imprisonment. Recaptured by its ruthless leaders, Azrael (Samara Weaving) is due to be sacrificed to pacify an ancient evil deep within the surrounding wilderness – but she has other ideas.”
