A sequel for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is set to release on Valentine’s Day 2024, and it is apparently going to be a lot bloodier!

Speaking with Variety, director and co-writer Rhys Waterfield shared several updates for the sequel.

“In comparison to the first film everything’s stepped up massively. It’s a horror film. A lot of the times people are going there for the death scenes and for those elements and we’ve really upped the ante. I think the last time I did a count there was over 30 deaths in the movie, which is quite substantial compared to most movies. I think that’s at least over three times what the first film had and there’s various massacres and stuff. So, there’s a lot of blood and a lot of gore.”

This is definitely a result of the increased budget, which Waterfield mentions is “10 times” that of the first film. This also allows for wilder kills in the sequel, which Waterfield wants to make “really, really crazy.” He also went on to give a hint to the film’s synopsis, saying, “There’s a group of girls in a motor home, they’re having a good time and then Winnie the Pooh and Owl turn up and then… they don’t have a good time.”

Matt Leslie (Summer of 84) wrote the screenplay for the slasher sequel. The cast for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 includes Tallulah EvansScott Chambers (Doctor Jekyll) as Christopher Robin, Ryan Oliva (Seasoning House) as Winnie-the-Pooh, and Peter DeSouza-Feighoney (The Pope’s Exorcist) as Young Pooh.
