Five Nights at Freddy’s has been a surprise hit with an opening weekend of over $130 million globally. Setting records for a video game film debut, bringing it just behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

This is no doubt due to the huge FNAF fanbase, which has maintained a strong online presence through YouTube and online forums. Despite the film streaming the same day on Peacock, it managed to bring out tons of fans to the theaters. It’s the biggest box office for a same day streaming movie ever, beating the Halloween movies and Dune.

While the movie has gotten mostly poor reviews, the movie has a very strong A- Cinemascore. This film was made for fans, and they’re enjoying it! FNAF is set to be a trilogy, so it will be exciting to see how the sequels will do.
