According to a report from Deadline, Jennifer Coolidge is joining the cast of Warner Bros/Vertigo/Legendary’s feature take of videogame Minecraft. The news follows Coolidge’s second Primetime Emmy win for HBO’s The White Lotus.
Coolidge joins Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brookers and Sebastian Eugene Hansen. Jared Hess directs the Legendary co-financed production which is also from Momoa’s On the Roam.
Producers include Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Momoa, Torfi Frans Olafsson, Vu Bui and the late Jill Messick. EPs are Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza and Jonathan Spaihts.
Minecraft is the bestselling video game of all time with 300 million copies sold and nearly 140M monthly active players. Production for the film is about to be underway on the film adaptation of Mojang/Microsoft’s Minecraft in New Zealand.
