Filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg and 20th Century Studios are teaming up again for another Predator film.

Titled Badlands, the new Predator feature is not a sequel to Prey, which was set in 1719 and centered on a Comanche woman, Naru (Amber Midthunder) forced to fight the vicious alien species for survival. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Badlands is to be set sometime in the future and will feature a female lead like Prey.

Prey originally premiered on Hulu July 21, 2022, and proved to be a massive success for the streamer.  It is the fifth film in the mainline series and seventh in the overall franchise. It is a prequel to the first four films. It will be interesting to see how Badlands fits into the Predator storyline.

Like Prey, Trachtenberg will direct the upcoming film. Trachntenberg wrote the story with Patrick Aison, with Aison penning the screenplay. Production is planned for July. Other Predator projects are planned, with Trachtenberg at the center.
