The Jurassic franchise has been through its up and downs with its recent films and although the last film grossed a billion dollars, it still was over 350 million budget. It looks like the studio is starting to rethink how to handle it’s next venture into the world of dinosaurs. We found out earlier in the year they are fast tracking a new film for next year. It was reported earlier in the year that David Leitch (Fall Guy and Bullet Train) was in talks to bring the dinos back to life. Of course days later we would find out that the two separated apparently due to the studio wanting a heavier hand in the decision making.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Gareth Edwards is the latest name to be thrown in the mix. Edwards is coming off the sci-fi epic The Creator starring John David Washington. It’s also not a new thing for Edwards to direct epics with Godzilla and Rogue One under his belt. Of course with a summer release in 2025 it sounds like we might soon be hearing details of what the movie will bring.

The new installment of the franchise is being executive produced by Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing through Kennedy-Marshall.
