True Detective star and World Boxing Council middleweight champ and Independent Spirit nominee Kali Reis has boarded Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming thriller Mercy, according to Deadline. Reis joins Chris Pratt, Rebecca Ferguson and Annabelle Wallis. 

The film is from director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) from a script by Marco van Belle (Arthur & Merlin) and “is set in the near future when capital crime has increased. A detective (Chris Pratt) has been accused of a violent crime and is forced to prove his innocence.”

Reis made her film debut in 2021’s Catch the Fair One, which she co-wrote and starred in. She most recently co-starred in True Detective: Night Country with Jodie Foster, which earned her rave reviews.
