Keanu Reeves is joining Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as the voice of Shadow.

The follows the footage that Paramount shared of the film at CinemaCon, which showed Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), depressed and out of shape after the events of Sonic 2 but gets his groove back thanks to creating Shadow the Hedgehog.

Director Jeff Fowler is behind all three installments of the Sonic film franchise, which stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic opposite James Mardsen as Tom Wachowski, Sonic’s human friend.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to release December 20, 2024.
