Videogame El Paso, Elsewhere is headed to the big screen, with THR reporting that LaKeith Stanfield (Haunted Mansion, Sorry to Bother You, FX’s “Atlanta”) will star. Stanfield will also produce the film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

According to THR, “There is no writer or director, as the project is still being packaged in the hopes of finding a studio home. The package is seen as buzzy, as it is a video game adaptation, a bustling genre thanks to titles such as The Last of Us, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the most recent hit, Fallout.”

In the upcoming film adaptation, “Recovering from a toxic relationship, James Savage (LaKeith Stanfield) confronts both his inner demons and enigmatic ex-girlfriend, Janet, before she executes a world-ending ritual. James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth. James learns that the only route to love is through healing.”

In developer Strange Scaffold’s El Paso, Elsewhere, “Players control James Savage, a narcotics-addicted vampire hunter who is tracking down his ex-girlfriend, Draculae, a vampire bent on ending the world. While fighting supernatural creatures, players rescue hostages from the motel where the vampire lives.” You can check the game out on Steam.
