The ’90s slasher franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer is being rebooted and has a theatrical release set for July 18, 2025.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) is directing the film from a screenplay she co-wrote with Sam Lansky after an initial script from Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz produces the film.

Jim Gillespie directed the original I Know What You Did Last Summer back, which was written by Kevin Williamson (Scream) and based on Lois Duncan’s novel. The film had two sequels in 1998 and 2006.

In the I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), “Four young friends bound by a tragic accident are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac in their small seaside town.” It starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr.
