A new featurette for Ishana Night Shyamalan’s The Watchers, was shared today. Titled “Try Not to Die,” has writer/director Ishana, star Dakota Fanning, and producer M. Night Shymalan offering some insight into the film.

Ishana explains how she wanted to mix horror and fantasy and continues by talking about the environment of the story. From their commentary, we learn about the space the characters are trapped in called, “The Coop.” It is a space that keeps the characters safe from “The Watchers,” however, it is also something they want to escape from.

The Watchers stars Dakota Fanning (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), Oliver Finnegan (“Creeped Out”) and Olwen Fouere (The Northman).

Based on the novel by A.M. Shine, the film “follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.”

The Watchers releases in theaters on June 14, 2024.
