At John Cena‘s Comicpalooza panel this past Sunday, May 26, some updates on Peacemaker were provided. Peacemaker first premiered in 2022, and the second season is highly anticipated.

Audience members had some questions about Peacemaker, including whether or not we will see the character in other DC projects. However, Cena said in a jokingly manner, that he doesn’t want to make James Gunn mad, so at the moment all he can offer is, “No comment.”

Also, Peacemaker Season 2 can be expected sometime in 2025. He mentioned that they will be filming in a few weeks, so we can potentially expect further updates later in the year. Speaking of the series, the intro was also discussed, and Cena said he’s not sure if they’ll have a new dance routine for the second season’s opening title sequence.

The series stars Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, which is based on the DC character of the same name. Created by James Gunn for Max, the series is a spin-off of the 2021 film, The Suicide Squad. Along with Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick also star. The series follows Peacemaker, “a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.”
