20th Century and Dan Trachtenberg’s Badlands may have Elle Fanning as the film’s star. Like 2022’s Prey, Badlands is set as a standalone Predator film.

The new Predator feature is not a sequel to Prey, which was set in 1719 and centered on a Comanche woman, Naru (Amber Midthunder) forced to fight the vicious alien species for survival. However, Prey 2 is still a possibility with Midthunder returning. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Badlands is set sometime in the future.

Trachtenberg will direct the upcoming film. Trachntenberg wrote the story with Patrick Aison, with Aison penning the screenplay. According to Deadline, Fanning is on board and once a deal closes, filming will hopefully start later this year.
