Ubisoft’s popular videogame, Watch Dogs, is being adapted into a film from New Regency, with Tom Blyth (Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes) and Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me) set to star.

Mathieu Turi will be directing. Christie LeBlanc penned the original draft with new revisions by Victoria Bata. Yariv Milchan, Chairman and CEO of New Regency, and Natalie Lehmann, President of Motion Pictures and Television at New Regency, will produce with Margaret Boykin, Head of Content at Ubisoft Film & Television.

In the Watch Dogs videogame, “You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and former thug, whose criminal past led to a violent family tragedy. Now on the hunt for those who hurt your family, you’ll be able to monitor and hack all who surround you by manipulating everything connected to the city’s network. Access omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control traffic lights and public transportation to stop the enemy… and more.” The series extends to other entertainment media, with the latest entry in the franchise, Watch Dogs: Legion, released in late 2020.
