Brandy (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer) makes her return to horror with A24‘s The Front Room, which now has an official trailer. In the trailer, we see a husband and wife that take in the husband’s mother. The mother seems innocent enough until the trailer progresses, showing that she thinks the holy spirit possesses her, she’s racist and she’s trying to take the house and newborn baby. As Brandy’s character says, “She wants to replace me.”

Olivier Award-winning actress Kathryn Hunter (The Tragedy of Macbeth), Tony Award-winning actor Andrew Burnap (Snow White), and Neal Huff (Spotlight) will also star.

The film “follows a young, newly pregnant couple forced to take in an ailing stepmother who has long been estranged from the family.” It is written and directed by Max and Sam Eggers, in their feature debut

A24 will release The Front Room in theaters September 6, 2024.
