Paramount+‘s remake of the French political drama series The Bureau will star Michael Fassbender. The upcoming series is called, The Agency.

Fassbender will also exec produce alongside George Clooney and Grant Heslov through their Smokehouse Pictures banner. Joe Wright will direct, and exec produce with Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth writing all ten episodes and exec producing.

The series follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.

It is produced by 101 Studios and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. Keith Cox and Nina L. Diaz exec produce for Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin and Bob Yari exec produce for 101 Studios. Alex Berger, Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton also exec produce. 

It will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime later this year.
