While on his press tour for Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige spoke to BlackTree TV. During the interview, Feige provided some updates on the Blade reboot, which has been in a sort of limbo the past couple of years.

The reboot, which is set to star Mahershala Ali, was first announced July 2019. Since then, several writers and directors have departed from the project, but Feige emphasizes that they do not want to rush the film. “I mean, for the last two years as we’ve been trying to crack that movie, the most important thing for us is not rushing it and making sure we are making the right ‘Blade’ movie.”

Also, it was teased that the reboot will be rated-R. “Because there were some great ‘Blade’ movies years ago — they were all rated-R. So I think that’s, like Deadpool, inherent with the character of Blade.”

Blade is currently on the release calendar for November 7, 2025.
