With San Diego Comic-Con in full force, the announcement of a new The Boys spinoff was made, and this time it is a prequel! Titled, Vought Rising, the new series will bring back Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash). The two will also serve as producers. Additionally, it was revealed during the panel that Ackles will be a series regular in the fifth and final season of The Boys.

In a statement, Eric Kripke and Paul Grellong said, “It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”

The Boys series executive producer Paul Grellong serves as executive producer and showrunner on Vought Rising.

Grellong and Kripke executive produce Vought Rising alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
