Paramount Pictures is developing the sequel to Alexandre Aja‘s Crawl, with Aja confirmed to return to direct.

Crawl 2 “will feature a new cast and a new location, in this case the more urban dangers of New York City.”

Andrew Deutschman and Jason Pagan (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, Project Almanac) will write the film’s script.

The first film from 2019, Crawl, was written by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, starred Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper. In the film, “When a massive hurricane hits her Florida town, young Haley ignores the evacuation orders to search for her missing father, Dave. After finding him gravely injured in their family home, the two of them become trapped by the rapidly encroaching floodwaters. With the storm strengthening, Haley and Dave discover an even greater threat than the rising water level — a relentless attack from a pack of gigantic alligators.”
