Universal shared a new video today for their upcoming film, Speak No Evil. In it, the film’s star, James McAvoy, details his sinister character, Patrick Feld.

He explains how the character is apparently a doctor, who is “more about family life and country life, but there’s a darkness that.” He continues by explaining, “the minute he gets toxic, he balances it with something to justify it,” and that “he’s absolutely having fun doing it.” There are also some shots of scenes not shown in previous trailers!

James Watkins (The Woman in Black, Eden Lake) wrote and directed Speak No EvilMackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Happiest Season), James McAvoy (Split, Glass) and Scoot McNairy (Argo) star in the film.

In the film, “When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream holiday soon warps into a snarled psychological nightmare.”

Jason Blum will produce the upcoming film for Blumhouse, with Paul Ritchie, Christian Tafdrup, Jacob Jarek, and Bea Sequeira serving as Executive Producers.

Speak No Evil releases September 13, 2024.
