IFC Films and Shudder have acquired the North American rights for comedy slasher, Get Away.

In the film, “A family’s vacation to a remote getaway takes an unexpected turn when they discover the island they’re on is inhabited by a serial killer.“

Get Away is directed by Steffen Haars and written by Nick Frost, who also stars alongside Aisling Bea, Sebastian Croft and Maisie Ayres. The film will have its premiere this September at Fantastic Fest.

“Get Away is a laugh out loud comedy that pours several buckets of blood onto a family’s sweet vacation in Sweden. This hilarious thrill ride will stir up laughs and scares in equal measure,” said Emily Gotto, SVP of acquisitions and production for Shudder. “Nick Frost revs up his horror comedy expertise with the support of a strong ensemble cast and Steffen Haars’ playful directorial touch.”

Get Away will release in theaters on December 6, 2024, followed by its Shudder debut in 2025.
