Mike Flanagan is back with another Stephen King adaptation, Carrie. The new series comes from Amazon and will feature eight episodes, Deadline reports.

In Carrie, “a friendless teenage girl who is sheltered by her domineering, religious mother, unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom.”

The novel has been adapted several times, with Brian De Palma first adapting it for the big screen in 1976. The most recent was the 2013 remake which starred Chloë Grace Moretz.

Flanagan will executive produce the new series along with Trevor Macy.
