Alien Romulus has to be one of the biggest films of the year and a clear standout for Cailee Spaeny and David Jonnson. The two were some of the highlights of the highly anticipated legacy sequel. Of course, with an ending like Romulus we all wondered what would be next? A studio film being a huge box office sucess could only mean a sequel was on the way? Well the answer to that is OF COURSE!

20th Century Studios head Steve Asbell revealed during a sit down with The Hollywood Reporter that a follow-up movie to Alien: Romulus is being actively discussed. Asbell teases, “We’re working on a sequel idea now. We haven’t quite closed our deal with Fede [Alvarez], but we are going to, and he has an idea that we’re working on.”

“The two survivors, Rain and Andy, played by Cailee Spaeny and David Jonsson, were real highlights of the film,” he adds. “And so I always think of it like, ‘Wow, where do people want to see them go next?’ We know there’s going to be aliens. We know there’s going to be great horror set pieces. But I fell in love with both of them and I want to see what their story is.”

Of course we will be eagerly anticipating the official announcement for a sequel. I really enjoyed the film a lot for its amazing leads and Alvarez horror direction. I’m a fan of Alien Isolation and have always wanted to see that aspect on the big screen. Fede, Cailee, and David Jonsson all returning is a must and I hope to see the film soon. Are you excited for Alien Romulus getting a sequel?
