Production is officially underway on Sony’s I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, announced via the film’s official social media account this morning.

The ’90s slasher franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot has a theatrical release set for July 18, 2025.

Madelyn Cline (“Outer Banks”) and Camila Mendes (“Riverdale”) are in talks to lead Sony’s reboot alongside Sarah Pidgeon (“Gotham”), Tyriq Withers (“Atlanta”) and Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid).

In the reboot, “The model for the new take is the 2022 Scream reboot, which saw members of the original cast mix it up with a cast of young up-and-comers.”

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) is directing the reboot for Sony, with Leah McKendrick (M.F.A.) writing the original draft of the screenplay. The latest draft was written by Robinson & Sam Lansky.
