This February, IndiePix Films has announced the inaugural edition of the ERIC ROBERTS FILM FESTIVAL, which will run exclusively on IndiePix Unlimited, their signature SVOD service located exclusively on Amazon Prime Video Channels. The first annual festival pays homage to the estimable career of Roberts, who has over 735 screen credits to his name (and adding more by the week) and is one of the most prolific English-language actors in the world today. Working across all genres, from action and drama to cult horror and low-budget indie productions and often juggling multiple projects simultaneously, his relentless work ethic and adaptability have made him a fixture in Hollywood for over four decades.

Launching on February 28 with ten of Roberts’ latest entertaining efforts most of which hail from the past decade, the actor’s talents are on full display across films such as the Sleeping with the Enemy throwback A FATAL OBSESSION and 1996’s restored cult gem AMERICAN STRAYS to 2024’s medieval action flick DEVIL’S KNIGHT (also starring Kevin Sorbo and Angie Everheart) and the latest installment of STALKED BY MY DOCTOR starring Roberts as the evil Dr. Albert Beck.

Roberts (born April 18, 1956), brother to Julia Roberts and father to Emma, is best known for his prolific career spanning film and television. Raised in Georgia , his parents ran an acting and writing school out of their home, influencing him and his sisters to become actors. He made his breakthrough in King of the Gypsies (1978), earning a Golden Globe nomination, followed by acclaimed performances in Star 80 (1983) and Runaway Train (1985), which brought him an Academy Award nomination.

Throughout the ‘80s, Roberts was regarded as one of Hollywood’s most promising actors, delivering standout performances in films such as Raggedy Man (1981), The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984), and Nobody’s Fool (1986), culminating with an Oscar nomination for the thrilling Runaway Train (1986). However, personal struggles and industry setbacks led him to pivot towards independent films and television, where he remains a constant presence.

Roberts’ mainstream resurgence included roles in major films like The Dark Knight (2008), The Expendables (2010), and Inherent Vice (2014). His television career has been equally extensive, with appearances in Doctor WhoHeroesSuitsCSILaw & Order: SVUBrooklyn Nine-Nine, and Grey’s Anatomy, among many others.
