Singer Studios has unveiled the official trailer for Trailblazer: The Untold Story of Mrs. Benz, the groundbreaking VR experience starring Daisy Ridley (Star Wars) and directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Eloise Singer.

Set in 1888 Germany, Trailblazer brings to life the remarkable true story of Bertha Benz, who defied societal norms by embarking on the world’s first road trip in her husband Karl Benz’s revolutionary Motorwagen. This daring 120-kilometer journey not only showcased the invention to a skeptical public but changed the course of transportation history forever.

“This wasn’t just a test drive of the world’s first car; it was a daring statement about innovation and tenacity,” said Eloise Singer, Director and Executive Producer. “Bertha believed in the impossible and made it happen, even when the odds were against her.”

The VR experience invites users to step into Bertha’s shoes, exploring her workshop, assembling the revolutionary engine, and joining her on the historic journey through beautifully rendered landscape of 19th century Germany.

“Bertha’s determination and courage are incredibly inspiring,” said Daisy Ridley. “I hope audiences are as moved by her journey as I was while working on this project.” 

The critically acclaimed VR experience, which premiered to widespread praise at the Venice Film Festival and SXSW, is executive produced by BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated Lesley Paterson (All Quiet on the Western Front), Daisy Ridley, and Emmy-nominated Eloise Singer (The Pirate Queen).

Trailblazer: The Untold Story of Mrs. Benz will be released on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 on March 7, 2025, in celebration of International Women’s Day.

This marks the beginning of the Trailblazer franchise, which will expand into a graphic novel series and feature film.
