A reboot of A Walk to Remember is in the works from Monarch Media, alongside the original film’s producers Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry, Deadline reports.

The bestseller novel from Nicholas Sparks follows “a rebellious high school senior who falls for a quiet, faith-driven girl after being forced to participate in a school play, discovering the transformative power of love, forgiveness and the beauty of living each day with purpose.”

The novel was adapted in 2002 from Warner Bros. and starred Mandy Moore and Shane West. It was directed by Adam Shankman and written by Karen Janszen
