Buffalo 8 has acquired North American distribution rights to Alex Kugelman’s thriller-dark comedy Don’t Trip, Deadline reports.

Matthew Sato (Imaginary, High School Musical: The Series) stars as a struggling screenwriter who falls into a dangerous relationship with a powerful producer’s son, played by TikTok personality Will Sennett.

Additional cast include Olivia Rouyre (High School, American Horror Story), Fred Melamed, (A Serious Man, Barry), Pell James (Zodiac, Euphoria) and Chloe Cherry (Euphoria).

“We could not be more excited to partner with a team as incredible as Buffalo 8,” Kugelman said, describing the film as “a darkly comedic and thrilling story that explores the underbelly of Hollywood nepo baby culture.”
