Hulu has given a series order to an untitled drama written and executive produced by Liz Meriwether (New Girl, The Dropout) with Emmy Rossum (Shameless, Angelyne) executive producing and in talks to star.
Loosely inspired by the 1987 movie Black Widow the series follows, “an FBI agent (Rossum) who uses the secrets from a female serial killer’s past to try and find her.”
Meriwether executive produces alongside Rossum and Sara Moskowitz via Rossum’s Composition 8 banner as well as Ron Bass who wrote the 20th Century Fox-distributed 1987 film. 20th Television, where Meriwether has been based for a decade, and Searchlight TV are producing.
