Tom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do, The Summer I Turned Pretty) has joined the cast of Prime Video‘s Legally Blonde prequel series Elle.

Scott will star as Elle’s dad “Wyatt.” He will work opposite Lexi Minetree who plays the titular teen and June Diane Raphael as his wife Eva.

From creator Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure), the series follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman in the first Legally Blonde film.

Showrunners Kittrell and Caroline Dries executive produce with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter of Hello Sunshine and the films’ producer Marc Platt. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is directing the first two episodes. Elle is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.
