Sydney Sweeney is in final negotiations to star in the live-action Gundam movie coming together at Legendary.

Her role and plot details are under wraps.

Jim Mickle is set to direct the new Gundam, co-developed between Legendary and franchise owner Bandai Namco Filmworks, from his own script. Mickle will also produce with his partner Linda Moran through their production company Nightshade.

Gundam is a long-running multimedia franchise created by Yoshiyuki Tomino, which kicked off with anime series Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979.
