Reese Witherspoon has shared a first look at Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods in Elle, Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series.

Witherspoon announced on Instagram that the series began production. “Harvard was hard. High School was harder. Our new series, Elle, is now in production!” she wrote.

From creator Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure), the series follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman in the first Legally Blonde film.

Showrunners Kittrell and Caroline Dries executive produce with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter of Hello Sunshine and the films’ producer Marc Platt. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is directing the first two episodes. Elle is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.
